Adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities may need information or support about sex from their guardians. So, how do great Guardians, Social Workers, Providers, Caregivers or Attorneys manage this sensitive topic in order to keep clients safe and happy?

The Center interviewed Pat Carney, Director of Learning & Development for MA Department of Developmental Services, CW Region. Pat brings practical, actionable advice to help family and professional guardians navigate personal conversations about sex.

Participants will learn:
1. Misunderstandings about sex and adults with disabilities that guardians may need to observe and dispel.
2. Why and how to educate clients about sex before discussing consent.
