Scheduled Virtual Instructor-Led Training

Standard 4: Knowledge of Laws, Courts & Legal Processes

Description
Join us on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 11 AM - 1 PM Eastern Time. When the court appoints a guardian, many laws and procedures are imposed on that guardian’s work. Procedures, limitations, modification, termination and due process are among the terms and actions guardians are expected to understand and include.

In this 2-hour training, you will review key legal terms as they apply to guardianship and see how they can impact two case study clients. This information is likely to make up as much as 14% of your certification exam. Exam-style questions presented in this course can help you prepare for guardianship certification.

Learning Objectives - You will learn definitions, expectations and applications for:
4.1 Guardianship Procedures (Laws and Practices)
4.2 Types of Guardianships (Limited, Emergency)
4.3 Compliance with Court Monitoring and Supervision
4.5 Limits to Guardian’s Authority
4.6 Due Process

This live, virtual training is highly interactive and requires participants to engage in typed chat discussion. Participants are encouraged to speak during activities using computer microphones.

We request that participants download the “Knowledge of Laws, Courts & Legal Processes Participant Guide” in advance and have it available to reference during the training.
