Per Washington state policy, course credit can only be received once per course per biennial reporting period.

The Center for Guardianship Excellence is required to report this form to the state within 30 days of the course. When the court appoints a guardian, many laws and procedures are imposed on that guardian’s work. Procedures, limitations, modification, termination and due process are among the terms and actions guardians are expected to understand and include.

In this 2-hour training, you will review key legal terms as they apply to guardianship and see how they can impact two case study clients. This information is likely to make up as much as 14% of your certification exam. Exam-style questions presented in this course can help you prepare for guardianship certification.

Learning Objectives - You will learn definitions, expectations and applications for:
4.1 Guardianship Procedures (Laws and Practices)
4.2 Types of Guardianships (Limited, Emergency)
4.3 Compliance with Court Monitoring and Supervision
4.5 Limits to Guardian’s Authority
4.6 Due Process

We recommend members download the “Competency 4 Participant Guide” and have it available to reference during the training.
