Scheduled Webinar: Live

Help! I Need Somebody!

Description
This webinar is a 1-hour presentation by sociologist, Dr. Joanne Tompkins, who led the research.

Please join us Tuesday, May 12, 2026 from 12 PM-1 PM. The Center will offer a review of a research article we had published, sharing the findings of a national study on the characteristics that make someone less likely to choose a health care proxy. Our study found that socioeconomic status, social life, and health status impact the likelihood. We will discuss how healthcare workers, social workers, and guardians can help identify people who are at risk for not choosing a healthcare proxy and normalize conversations about end-of-life care preferences between healthcare professionals, patients, and families.

This webinar is offered free of charge. Registration is required. 1 CEU from Center for Guardianship Certification will be awarded.
